Rick and Morty is a Sci-Fi cartoon that came out in 2013. It has some of the most exciting episodes from any TV show, not just comics, ever created. Like its title indicates, Rick is an alcoholic scientist who travels through space with his grandson Morty who he uses as his co-pilot. Rick and Morty go on many adventures, usually with Rick tricking his grandson Morty into doing things for him. The show is intense, and we can interpret it to mean a lot of different things. It's not just another cartoon where aliens shoot lasers from their eyes; they use philosophy as well as humour.
What Makes it so Good?
Rick and Morty have some of the most memorable characters for a cartoon ever. Rick is an old alcoholic who doesn't care about anyone's feelings and does whatever he wants, even if it means killing people. However, he's also smart, intelligent, and can be very funny at times.
The Best Episodes of Rick and Morty
There are many episodes that Rick and Morty have to offer, but which ones are worth the watch?
#1 - The Rickshank Rickdemption (Season 3, Episode 1) This episode was the first time we got to see an extensive backstory, leading to a big plotline for the season to continue.
#2 - Pickle Rick (Season 3, Episode 3) This was an episode that got people's attention, and it turned out to be a great episode.
#3 - Interdimensional Cable 2: Tempting Fate (Season 2, Episode 6) This episode was one that people were sceptical of; Rick and Morty have to watch bad TV shows from alternate dimensions. But it ended up being hilarious.
#4 - Close Rick-Counters of the Rick Kind (Season 3, Episode 2) This episode was the first time we saw Evil Morty and an actual conflict/conflict between different Ricks.
#5 - Total Rickall (Season 2, Episode 4) This episode was an all-out hilarious B-Plot episode that was well executed.
#6 - The Ricklantis Mixup (Season 3, Episode 5) This episode gave us a whole backstory of how the Citadel came to be and why it's filled with all these corrupt politicians.
#7 - Meeseeks and Destroy (Season 1, Episode 5) This episode was filled with many great characters, and it had the potential to become dull, but the writers made sure they put in the effort.
#8 - Look Who's Purging Now (Season 1, Episode 4) The show steps away from its standard format, and we got to see Rick getting killed for once and Morty trying to save him.
#9 - Rest and Ricklaxation (Season 3, Episode 9) This was a fun B-Plot episode that gives us a nice backstory of how Rick met Bird Person.
#10 - Ricky Business (Season 1, Episode 11) Morty's parents come over to visit the Smith family, and we get more backstory for Beth and Jerry.
#11 - Morty's Mind Blowers (Season 3, Episode 7) In this episode, we see what happened in most of the B-Plot episodes that Rick and Morty have done.
#12 - Get Schwifty (Season 1, Episode 6) We saw many music-themed episodes, but this one was the best; this song is still in my head to this day.
#13 - Big Trouble in Little Sanchez (Season 1, Episode 7) This episode was an excellent Rick/Morty adventure that showed us what happened to Summer and got her out of the way for the rest of season 1.
