Start with a job you do often. Choose a garlic press for garlic prep, a measuring cup for baking and sauces, or POP containers for pantry organisation. Check the size, care instructions and storage space before buying. Your kitchen drawer doesn’t need another passenger.

Match the container’s capacity and shape to the food you store, then check its external dimensions against your shelf height and depth. Set contents vary, so check each included size. A litre measurement describes volume; it isn’t a universal weight allowance for flour, rice or cereal.

OXO describes its POP containers as airtight storage for dry foods, with a push-button seal. Use the button to open and close the lid, and don’t carry a filled container by the lid. Airtight pantry storage doesn’t automatically mean a container is suitable for transporting liquids.

Care instructions depend on the product and generation. Many current POP containers and OXO tools are dishwasher safe, but check the instructions for your exact item, including its lid and removable parts. Let washed storage parts dry fully before refilling. Don’t assume every OXO product has the same care requirements.

A food mill mashes and strains food as you turn the handle. Use it for tomato sauce, apple sauce, soups or mashed potatoes, choosing the disc for the texture you want. OXO’s food mill can separate tomato skins and seeds while puréeing—handy when you want sauce without the extra sieve shuffle.

A potato ricer presses portions of cooked potato through holes for mash or gnocchi. A food mill uses a turning handle and disc to mash and strain food, making it useful for sauces and fruit purées as well as potatoes. Choose the tool around what you’ll cook most often.

OXO’s angled measuring cups let you read liquid measurements from above, so you can check the amount without repeatedly lifting the cup to eye level. Choose the capacity your recipes need. Baking maths is enough work already.

Choose the gnocchi or ginger cake recipe above and complete the newsletter signup. After a successful response, the popup shows a download link for the recipe you selected. Click it when you’re ready. The PDF isn’t emailed or downloaded automatically, and newsletter signup is separate from entering OXOtober.
